On the job

  • Operate and monitor industrial saws, planers, and other woodworking machinery for cutting, shaping, and finishing timber
  • Load and unload raw timber and processed wood products using hoists, forklifts, or other material handling equipment
  • Inspect timber and wood products for defects, ensuring quality standards are met for dimensions, moisture content, and finish
  • Adjust machine settings, replace blades, and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance and safety
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised work area to prevent accidents
