Overview

Installs, repairs, and maintains heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in homes and commercial buildings. This includes reading wiring diagrams, safely charging and recovering refrigerants, and ensuring systems meet current energy efficiency standards and building codes. HVAC mechanics diagnose system malfunctions, replace faulty components, and perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of climate control systems.

Ensures comfortable, healthy, and safe indoor environments for residential and commercial clients. Contributes significantly to energy efficiency by maintaining and installing modern, high-performance HVAC systems, and prevents costly system failures through expert diagnostics and repairs.

On the job

  • Install new HVAC systems, including ductwork, electrical components, and refrigerant lines
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions in heating, cooling, and ventilation systems
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, and replacing filters
  • Repair or replace faulty components like compressors, motors, thermostats, and circuit boards
