On the job
- Perform comprehensive pulmonary function tests (PFTs) including spirometry, lung volumes, and diffusion capacity
- Set up, calibrate, and operate polysomnographic (PSG) equipment for overnight sleep studies
- Monitor patients during sleep studies, ensuring data quality and responding to patient needs or emergencies
- Analyze complex physiological data from PFTs and PSGs, identifying abnormalities and patterns
- Prepare detailed technical reports and summaries of findings for physicians to aid in diagnosis and treatment
