This role is physically demanding, working outdoors in all weather conditions around active jet engines and moving vehicles. Ground crew are essential for the safe and efficient turnaround of aircraft.
Ensures the timely and safe departure and arrival of aircraft by managing baggage and cargo, providing essential ground support, and maintaining airport operational efficiency.
On the job
- Operate ground support equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and pushback tractors
- Load and unload baggage, cargo, and mail using manual and automated systems
- Guide aircraft to and from parking positions using visual hand signals or radio communication
- Perform pre- and post-arrival/departure checks on aircraft and equipment
- Maintain a safe and secure working environment on the ramp
