On the job

Interpret patterns, specifications, and production orders to determine cutting requirements.
Lay out fabric on cutting tables, ensuring grain lines, pattern direction, and fabric nap are correctly aligned.
Operate manual cutting tools (e.g., rotary cutters, straight knives) and/or automated cutting machinery (e.g., CAD/CAM systems).
Inspect cut pieces for defects, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards.
Organise, label, and bundle cut fabric pieces for subsequent sewing or assembly stages.
